Dear Brethren,

I’m sure everyone has been enjoying the warm temperatures and the arrival of such an early spring. I hope this is a sign of a much deserved and needed warm summer season to come. Especially after the monsoon season we had last year.

Past Master’s night went very well on April 17th. It was very entertaining and I want to thank all the past masters that participated. With the promise I made of making a donation determined by the amount of non officers that attended, the brethren decided to have me make a $50.00 donation to the Homeless shelter.

As most know, May 1st is the annual Grand Lodge elections. Right Worshipful Smith, Bro. Kenneth Stewart and myself will be going to Bangor, Maine to represent Trinity lodge #130. We will do our best not only to represent our lodge but also to vote for the good of the order.

Being absent for our stated meeting in May, our chairs will be filled with past masters to conduct regular business. No degree work will be scheduled that evening but I would ask for regular attendance from our brethren in order to conduct our monthly business.

On May 22nd we will be having a special degree night. It will be for Bro. Ryan Sylvia. A fulltime firefighter for PIFD. That evening we will have firefighters from all over Aroostook County filling the chairs for the degree. It should be very entertaining since it will be my first time doing a MM degree.

Clear your schedules for next months Reg. Meeting. We will be having a very entertaining supper prepared for us. Stay tuned for next months trestle board.

Respectfully Submitted,

Grant S Spinney W.M.

LET GEORGE DO IT

Some members keep their Lodges strong,
While others join and just belong;

Some dig right in, some serve with pride,
Some go along, just for the ride.

Some volunteer to do their share,
While some lay back and just don’t care;

On meeting nights some always show
While there are those who never go.

Some always pay their dues ahead,
Some get behind for months, instead.

Some do their best, some build, some make,
Some never give, but always take,

Some drag, some pull, some don’t, some do.

CONSIDER, which of these are you?

Anonymous.

From the East

Dear Brethren,

As everyone now knows, this is the month we host our annual Past Master’s Night. We will be having Eastern Star cooking our supper. This will help raise money for their own endeavors. If anyone has ever attended in the past, you know it can be very entertaining. I would love to see as many brethren attend as possible no matter if you are a Past Master or not.

To make things interesting. I am willing to place a wager. For any member that I have not seen in lodge on a regular basis in the last four years, your supper will be paid for by me personally. On top of that, for every non current officer that attends that evening. I will donate $2.00 to any charity of your choice. Come see just how much money I’ll have to “ante up”. See you all April 16th.

Respectfully Submitted,

Grant S Spinney W.M.

FROM THE EAST

Dear Brethren,

The installation of new officers was very successful on January 27th. All officers were present and installed except three that were unable to attend. I want to personally thank each and every one of my officers for filling the chairs this year and assisting me with this year’s upcoming agenda. I would also like to thank Brother Bruce Blodget for making and donating granite floor knockers for the three stations in the lodge. I doubt any officer’s rods will be able to break these ones.
I have made a few new changes this month all ready. We have started a staff schedule to clean the lodge on the first and second Sunday’s of each month. I have created this because of several complaints that were directed to me and other officers in the last year from other groups that use the lodge. I have made an initial schedule using the current officers. I would ask at this time that if any members willing to donate an hour or two this year to contact me. Our officers do allot for the lodge through the year and my hope is to replace them on this schedule with non officers.
Right Worshipful Milton E Smith has brought it to my attention that he would like me to find someone to prepare for training to replace him as our Secretary. The position of Asst. Secretary is now vacant. As most know, the Secretary is a position that consumes some of your time outside of lodge. Attendance is a MUST and it’s an important position that keeps any good lodge cemented together. At this time I would entertain for anyone to contact me if they are interested in filling this position and to start training this year. Please do so within the next two months.
My goal this month is to put together a proficiency team. We have five E.A’s waiting on F.C. Two F.C.’s waiting on M.M. and we balloted and passed one member in February with two more to ballot on in March. Needless to say we have allot of candidates. My hope is to find some members that are willing to work with these candidates and keep their interest and confidence up. Please have it be noted though. It is my opinion and strong belief that it is the first line signer’s reasonability to assist and train the candidate.

Anyone willing to volunteer please contact me ASAP.

Respectfully Submitted,

Grant S Spinney W.M.
